About Us

Frances Basset

Frances worked for many years as a nurse and senior lecturer in higher education before starting counselling and therapy work in 2003.

As a psychotherapist and supervisor, she obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Transpersonal Psychology from the Centre for Transpersonal Psychology in 2002 and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling and Therapy from the University of East London in 2005, (www.psychosynthesis.edu). In addition, Frances obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision from the University College Plymouth St Mark and St John in 2011.

She also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Brighton and a Masters in Public Service Management from the University of Sussex.

As a transpersonal psychotherapist, Frances holds a fundamental respect for the spiritual nature of human beings.

 

Thurstine Basset

Thurstine originally trained as social worker and worked as a community worker and social work practitioner, mostly in the mental health field. He has an MSc in Social Policy from Cranfield University.

He has worked as an Independent Training and Development Consultant for over 25 years. He has worked in this capacity for a number of national voluntary agencies, such as Mind, Together, the Mental Health Foundation, Rethink and the Richmond Fellowship. He has also worked for various statutory organisations in the mental health and social care sector.

He has strong links with Middlesex University, the University of Brighton and CAPITAL (Clients and Professionals in Training and Learning). He is a board member and occasional guest editor for the Journal of Mental Health Training Education and Practice.

He has published widely in the field of mental health training and education and has a strong commitment to equality in education and training.
